San Kamphaeng Hot Spring is located in San Kamphaeng District, Chiangmai, about 34 km from the city. It is considered a famous hot spring along with the reputation of the tourism of Chiang Mai, with the shady and beautiful atmosphere surrounded by mountains and flowers. Visitors will be also surprised by the natural miracle generated by the change from underground hot water with temperatures up to 100 degrees Celsius. The water rising up from the ground up to 15 meters in height is an incredible natural phenomenon.

Wat Ket Community is the old community located on the west side of Ping River. People who were living here were Chinese, European, and local people, which is evident from the architecture. Wat Ket Karam was the center of the community. The buildings and constructions were built after B.E.2339 or after the establishment of Chiang Mai city of Rattanakosin. Prior to the emergence of train, this was the main port for marine transport between Rattanakosin (presently Bangkok) and Chiang Mai and other provinces in the south. Thus, Wat Ket region became more important according to the economic situation in Chiang Mai.

The community is situated at the hillside of Doi Luang Chiang Dao, close to Doi Luang Chiang Dao Wildlife Sanctuary. From the back of the village, the view of Doi Luang Chiang Dao is very stunning.
